Ask an Accountant

Question
How do I categorize concert tickets as a deduction for my business as a music instructor?
Answer

I love that you’re asking this question! Many music instructors don’t think to consider concert tickets in their deductible expenses, but it totally counts!

This would be classified as “Continuing Education,” and is fully deductible (but only your ticket, not a friend’s or family member’s).
