The good news is that for most people SSDI payments aren't taxable. But if you have other sources of income, they may be taxable. The amount that is taxable is dependent on how much other income you earn and up to 85% of your SSDI payments could be taxable. Check with your state to find out if they tax SSDI payments. Most don't but some follow similar rules as the IRS.
