Question
Working as an independent contractor in NY state for the first time. Where can I find simple instructions on how and what to file? I was also an employee earlier in the year and on unemployment for a while. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Answer
Great question! As an independent contractor, there's only two things you need to file: end-of-year taxes, and (maybe) quarterly taxes. You can find out how much you owe and whether quarterlies are required by going to the "Taxes" tab in the Keeper Tax app :)
