Online course creation
You package what you know into a course and sell it on platforms like Teachable or Udemy. It takes work to build, then can keep selling on its own.
Creating online courses is one of the most rewarding side hustles because you can build an asset once and earn from it repeatedly while genuinely helping people learn a skill, but the reality behind the "passive income" myth is that marketing, audience building, and student support take up 80% of the actual work. What I love most is the complete creative control and the high profit margins, though the initial upfront grind of scripting, recording, and editing with zero guarantee of sales can be brutal. If I were starting over, I would validate demand by preselling a mini-workshop or coaching program before spending months filming a massive, polished curriculum, and I’d spend far less time stressing over fancy video gear in favor of crisp audio and a clearly defined transformation for the student. If I could change one thing, it would be building an email list from day one instead of relying entirely on platform algorithms to bring in traffic.
