Therapist
You provide talk therapy in an office or over video, often through platforms like Alma or Headway. Many build a private caseload alongside a main job.
I have the freedom of doing my own schedule and have flexibility to be with my family. Be patient Be able to have make more money
I love that I can be a therapist virtually. It’s hard if you have a full time job, but as long as you manage your schedule it’s doable. I love being a therapist, but insurance doesn’t pay out enough.
Wonderful fulfilling work, the business and taxes side of it do suck. Do as a side hustle only, not as a full time gig.
Ss
Embrace the unpredictability. It doesn’t ever change.
Love, the clients and continuous learning. Hate, the inflexible schedule. Starting out, get help with insurance billing. Diversify to more aspects of training (consultation, supervision, assessment)
It is a fulfilling but draining job.
I’m proud of my growth. I love that. I’m continuing to grow. Find a mentor ask questions it’s OK to not know at all. I wish I had more connections of people to talk to through throughout the process.
