Question
If I have $12550 on form 1040 line 12a and $100 on line 12b, what should be the value on line 12c?
AI accountant’s answer:
If you have $12,550 on Form 1040, line 12a (standard deduction for a single taxpayer for the tax year 2022) and $100 on line 12b (charitable contributions if you are taking the standard deduction), then the value on line 12c should be the sum of these two amounts. In this case, the value for line 12c would be $12,650.

It's important to note taht 12a, 12b, and 12c only refer to tax year 2021. Form 1040 for 2022 does not have these additional lines.
