LyftUber· 6–12 months in · 4 days agoI did well last year delivering for the apps but this year it seems like everything changed. Made more last year and now I believe it's the economy that is a stress of delivering. Not so many orders come through anymore.
Uber Eats· 3–6 months in · 9 days agoI would say a mixed bag of things I do love the economy you know getting out meeting people doing the shopping and seeing what unique things people purchased, but you know also is the lugging of the heavy items to the custom front door and then picking things up and then you know, sometimes the customer is being upset that you picked their own thing but overall is pretty

Uber Eats· 2–5 years in · 9 days agoI like food delivery because it gives me the flexibility to make extra money on my own time without having to commit to a set schedule. I can work when I have free time or when I need some extra cash, which is probably my favorite part. The downside is that some days are definitely better than others, and once you factor in gas, mileage, and wear and tear on your car, not every order is worth taking. If I had to give advice to someone starting out, I’d say don’t accept every order just because it pops up. Pay attention to the distance, payout, and how busy the area is. I’ve learned that being a little strategic makes a big difference. If I could change anything, I’d want better and more consistent pay, especially for longer deliveries and wait times. Overall, it’s a convenient side hustle and I like being able to decide when and how much I want to work.

I love how easy and independent the job is and how little socializing it requires. I love being able to wear whatever’s comfortable to work and stopping or pausing whenever needed.
DoorDash· 6–12 months in · 9 days agoI cannot stand the cheap people who expect you to jump thru hoops for no tip. Take your time. Go slow and make sure you do what you need to do. Grab the right orders, go to the right address etc.

I hate the constant app updates and unfair timer that is impossible to keep up with. You are already late before you even leave the restaurant. Uber Eats was better, more relaxed and paid more.

Uber· 5+ years in · 2 weeks agoI hate that it's gotten so saturated with drivers that the base payments have become ridiculously low. With GoPuff, you most definitely can make money but like any gig app it became bigger and started to lose focus on who keeps the business smoothly running. (The Drivers!). Unlike other apps tho I love GoPuff the most because you don't have to drive around the city for hotspots and etc. You go from warehouse to customers back to warehouse and with warehouses all overy City now at least, the furthest I have went delivering was 20mins away from the warehouse and those typically get paid a lil extra. Only thing I would change is the base pay should at the very least match the miles I shouldn't be getting paid 2.75 to drive 10miles, it's ludicrous!
Uber· 3–6 months in · 2 weeks agoWell it's quite simple food delivery drivers are the most underappreciated individuals but there's not much complaining we can do since the profit margins are not super high and maintaining reasonable income based on miles and gas is another issue in itself

I would say if you ars strict about early mornings and late evening schedules then you could potentially make decent money. The cost of gas and low demand make it hard.

I live in a very rural area so we only have two fast foods also it’s mostly retired people here so they don’t use door dash a lot. What I like is i can make a quick $20 xtra every so often xtra cash. What advice i would give, i mean it’s pretty easy just walk into any pick up the bag and deliver it. I guess the only advice i have is don’t be afraid to reject a crappy offer. For instance they give you an offer for $3 ! You do not have to except that and I hope you don’t. What would I change? I’d want better pay!
DoorDash· 1–2 years in · 2 weeks agoI love the flexibility, because I am disabled with chronic pain conditions and I never know when I'm going to have a flare up, it's nice to be able to pick and choose when you work. The down side is too many customers do not tip and doordash's base pay is so low you often end up feeling like you are paying to deliver someone's food.
Spark Driver· 1–2 years in · 2 weeks agoI love the job , sometimes the water packages are heavy when a customer orders more than 2 cases , but its a doable job , I totally would recommend to anyone to try . What I hate is that its too packed with drivers , making it harder to earn some decent money now . So if u could change something it would the amount of drivers on the road , but I cant control that .

DoorDash· 1–2 years in · 2 weeks agoI love that my side hustle allows me to do meaningful work, help people, and have some flexibility while building something of my own. The biggest challenge has been balancing the work itself with the administrative side and everything else going on in life. For anyone just starting out, I’d recommend giving yourself time to figure things out, starting small, staying consistent, and being willing to learn and adjust along the way. If I could change anything, I’d make the business and administrative side more streamlined and create stronger boundaries around my time so the work remains enjoyable and sustainable.

I’d hate the context switching and time drain: squeezing it into an already busy schedule, constantly deciding what deserves attention, and feeling like there’s always one more thing to do.
